The Second World War
as told by teenagers
The Second World War, as told by four teenagers of today (and their ancestors)! An educational book that recounts the key events of the war through fictionalised accounts.
Every year, Max spends his holidays at the same campsite, where he meets up with his friends Lisa, Daan and Liam. Last summer, keen to find out more about the history of the bunker they use as their headquarters, they set themselves the task of gathering their ancestors’ accounts of the Second World War. Gathered round a campfire, they piece together the key events of the war through the letters, photos, audio recordings and diaries left to them by their relatives, uncovering multigenerational trauma, the power of resistance and the courage of soldiers. A fascinating insight into one of the most tragic periods in history!
