Rintintin de Verdun à Hollywood
The True Story of Rintintin
From Verdun to Hollywood
Nothing suggested I was destined to become a film star. And yet I, Rintintin, a little puppy born in 1918, was soon to achieve a level of fame that no other dog had ever attained before me.
Whilst the First World War was raging, a young American pilot, Corporal Lee Duncan, discovered my family and me in the ruins of a camp between Verdun and Bar-le-Duc. We’d been abandoned there. After taking me in, Lee named me Rintintin and entered me into agility competitions. A film producer noticed my skills and made an offer to the captain, which launched my career.
This tale, full of twists and turns yet based on true events, reveals the fascinating story of Hollywood’s first French star: the most famous dog in cinema.
